When most people choose lighting, they focus on the colour temperature – warm, cool or daylight. But there are two other important factors that can make a huge difference to the comfort and usability of a space:

✨ Lumens – how much light a fitting produces.
✨ Lux – how much light actually reaches the surface where you need it.

For this project, our client was visually impaired and found the existing lighting uncomfortable due to glare and poor light distribution. Rather than simply replacing the lights, we redesigned the layout, removed an existing fitting, installed two new low-glare dimmable downlights in better positions, and selected fittings that delivered the required light levels while significantly reducing glare.

The result? A brighter, more comfortable space that's tailored to the client's needs.

Sometimes the solution isn't more light—it's the right light.

Avoid plugging heaters into double adapters or overloaded power boards.
Portable heaters draw a large amount of power and can quickly overload outlets — increasing the risk of overheating and electrical fires.
For safer use this winter:
✔️ Plug heaters directly into a wall outlet
✔️ Keep heaters away from curtains and furniture
✔️ Avoid running cords under rugs
✔️ Never leave heaters running unattended
A little extra care during winter can go a long way in keeping your home safe and warm.
